The Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA) has begun the sale of liquor, trade and miscellaneous licences at the Licences Revenue Office at Smyth and Princes Streets, Georgetown, and at identified GRA regional offices throughout the country.
According to Commissioner-General Khurshid Sattaur in a press release, the liquor licences would only be sold at the regional Offices, while the trade and miscellaneous licences can be bought at all offices of Regional Democratic Councils, with the exception of Region One and Region Four. The release said further that steps are being taken to conduct the sale of all licences solely from identified GRA regional offices in order to provide a better service to taxpayers and to reduce the amount of time spent traveling to Georgetown to acquire certain licences.
Meanwhile, applicants for the renewal of Trade and Miscellaneous Licences are reminded that they must possess the appropriate documents such as a valid form of identification, Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) and business registration and licence for 2009.
