Cyclists from Linden won all the races in the Under-15 category of the National Sports Commission sponsored programme organized by national cycling Coach Hassan Mohamed and held in the National Park yesterday.
Linden’s Oneal Leach and Delius Richardson won the BMX 9-12 and 12-14 categories respectively while Hazim Bharrat, also of Linden, came in ahead of second place winner Naomi Singh to win the 12-14 open.
It was all Linden again when Jamal Arthur and Devon Benjamin captured first and second places in the BMX 6-9 years category.
Lindener Richardson, who placed second in the BMX Open, was not fast enough to defeat first place winner Davenand Bissoon.
Meanwhile, Paul DeNobrega and Kester Croal won the Juvenile and Upright categories respectively and took the prime prizes in both events.
Robert Beaton and Berbician Turhan Harris were the winners of the veterans’ events.
The invitational 35 laps race was won by Alonzo Greaves in a time of one hour, 22 minutes and 51 seconds.
Robin Persaud was second and Marlon Williams third.
The cyclists will be in Essequibo today for the third annual Dr Cheddi Jagan memorial 50 miles cycle road race.
