The Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA) Haier Cup second division limited overs tournament bowled off on Saturday at the Demerara Cricket Club ground but prior to the start of play, former national junior table tennis player, Sarfraz Shadood, a representative of Queensway Company, made a presentation of shirts to the Georgetown Cricket Umpires and Scorers Association.
The donation was received by president of the GCUA Grantley Culbard.
The company said it was pleased to be associated with the GCA and the competition which will aid in the development of cricketers.
The tournament, which has over 10 teams participating, is expected to run for about two months.
