LONDON, CMC – Pedro Collins has secured a contract to play for the prestigious Middlesex Club in this year’s England County championship.
Collins had represented another London club Surrey under a Kolpak deal over the last two years, but his contract came to an end last year. “I am delighted to be returning to England to play county cricket this summer,” said the 33-year-old Collins.
”Playing at Lords with West Indies was always a special experience, and the thought of playing there for Middlesex with the home support on my side is very exciting.”
He added: “The Club has made some good signings this summer to complement a strong squad so I look forward to helping the club challenge for silverware.”
The club noted on its website on Monday that Collins was seen as “the final piece of the jigsaw in Middlesex’s seam bowling attack, which already boasts six other seamers, including New Zealand paceman Iain O’Brien, England’s latest debutant Steven Finn, and Middlesex’s Player-of-the-Year for the last three seasons, Tim Murtagh”.
“We are delighted to have secured the services of Pedro Collins,” said Middlesex’s Managing Director of Cricket Angus Fraser, the former England fast bowler.
