LEEDS, England, CMC – Tino Best’s hopes of playing for Yorkshire in the English County Championship this season may have hit a snag.
The Roses’ plans to contract Best for the season were thrown into disarray following Australia’s decision to exclude fast bowler Ryan Harris from their squad for the Twenty20 World Cup starting in the Caribbean on April 30.
Yorkshire had targetted Best, since they expected Harris, their first-choice overseas signing, would have been unavailable for the first part of the season with the Aussies.
Club officials were trying urgently to clarify Harris’ position and find out whether Cricket Australia would allow him to play county cricket as initially planned.
