Golden Grove Stars of the East Coast Demerara defeated Kingston High School in the main match on Sunday in the one-day circle tennis competition played at the GNS Ground.
Kingston batted first and scored 136-9 off their 40 deliveries, with Claude Wilkinson hitting 81 and Naticia Bobb chipped in with 27.
When GG Stars had their turn in the circle they got up to 142-2, with Christopher Sharp top scoring with 33 and Carol Kingston pitching in with 17.
Meanwhile the Ministry of Culture Youth & Sport circle tennis team will be in action this Saturday, April 3.
The team was victorious in their last game in November 2009 against PYARG, and will be hoping to take the same form against the Region Five team at the Seafield Community Centre Ground.
The first ball is expected to loop at noon. Other games on the day’s programme are female softball and football while trophies and other prizes are up for grabs.
