Neal and Massy (N&M) Guyana Group powered their way past the visiting United States of America (USA) and United Kingdom (UK) dominoes teams in the Money Gram sponsored International dominoes match played Tuesday evening at Neal and Massy Staff facilities at Ruimveldt.
The visitors found that Neal and Massy players were not very gracious hosts when the home team amassed 77 games to secure victory with the UK side securing 72 games for second position while the USA ended on the carpet with 68 games.
Barrlyn Oselmo of the USA marked the maximum 18 games in a losing cause with Maurice Jackson supporting with 13.
Leading the N&M was Julian Velloza with 17 games and Desmond Singh 14.
Eddy Grant and Elizabeth Favourite were the top markers for the UK with 14 and 13 games respectively.
The lovebirds were Asif Mohamed of N&M and James Duncan of UK.
The UK team sponsored by (Money Gram) and USA teams are in Guyana for the International Dominoes Federation biennial championships.
Deo Persaud, Neal and Massy Group Chief Executive Officer welcomed the overseas players and gave a brief history of the Group’s involvement in sports.
Money Gram Brand Manager Debbie Baldeo in presenting the trophies said the match was very competitive. According to Baldeo, Money Gram remittance service is available in over 155 countries worldwide and it was a pleasure to welcome the players who have come from destinations where the service could found.
Guyana National Dominoes Association President Robert Williams thanked Neal and Massy for inviting the players for the match.
He said the GNDA was looking forward to working closely with Group on companies in the future.
