Police on Saturday recovered an unlicensed shotgun in a haversack that was dropped by a man acting suspiciously on Kiskadee Drive, East La Penitence, when he spotted a mobile patrol.
According to a press release, around 09:30 hours ranks of a mobile police patrol along Kiskadee Drive, East La Penitence, Georgetown, observed a man who was walking along the road with a haversack on his back acting in a suspicious manner. As they approached the man he threw away the haversack and escaped.
The haversack was searched and an unlicensed 12 gauge single barrel shotgun was found. The barrel had been cut short.
Investigations are ongoing.
