Tony Simon pedalled his way to a convincing victory yesterday around the outer circuit of the National Park when the Guyana Cycling Federation (GCF) held its `Easter Special` cycling event.
Simon finished in a time of one hour, 27 minutes and 10 seconds crossing the finish line a long way ahead of the pack.
Junior Niles was second and Enzo Matthews, third.
The Junior category was won by Berbician Neil Reece, with Paul DeNobrega finishing close behind in second.
Darius Ramsammy, Ramond Percy and Nicolas Nandan placed first in the three BMX categories 12-14, 9-12 and 6-9 year-old respectively.
Meanwhile, Jude Bentley Jnr.,took the winning trophy for Mountain Bikes while Leslie Newton won the Beginners’ event.
The eight Prime Prizes went to Raymond Newton, Enzo Matthews and Tony Simon who took two each, while Christopher Persaud and Warren McKay won one each.
