Defending 1500m Carifta Games champion Jevina Straker made it back-to-back title win when she romped to victory in this year’s event at the Truman Bodden Sports Complex, Cayman Islands on Saturday.
According to a Caribbean Media Corporation report, “Guyana did not have much to cheer about all day but supporters did come alive when Jevina Straker won the girls Under-17 1500 metres.”
Straker’s winning time was four minutes, 43.33 seconds.
Jamaican Marlene Eubanks (4:43:45) took the silver and Vanessa Philbert (4:44:87) of the Netherland Antilles the bronze.
