The Miami Veterans football team under the captaincy of former national footballer Trevor `Lanny’ Maxwell is in Guyana for friendly engagements against two of Georgetown’s top football sides.
The series, which is the brainchild of Maxwell, will see the Miami veterans opposing the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) and the Western Tigers Football Club in what is an annual triangular tournament among the three clubs.

The tournament gets underway this afternoon at the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) ground from 5pm with the GFC Veterans coming up against Miami Veterans.

The second and final game between Western Tigers and Miami Veterans will be played on Friday. Two trophies will be presented to the winning teams at the end of the tournament.
