ROSEAU, Dominica, CMC – Dominica’s cricket authorities here are intensifying preparations for the staging of the two One-Day Internationals between West Indies and South Africa later this year.
The two matches carded for the Windsor Park Sports Stadium are set to bowl off on May 28 and 30 and Dominican Cricket Association marketing liaison, Glen Ducreay said he was very pleased with the build-up to the doubleheader.
“At present I must say that we are very happy with how things are shaping up,” Ducreay said.
“It has been a lot of hard work, but we are getting there. It is out intention to put up a world class event, one that we will truly be proud of. We are going all out to make this event even bigger and better than last year.”
He added: “Most of the corporate boxes have already been taken up, so that in itself is a very good sign. It clearly shows that we are marketing the event.”
Tickets are expected to go on sale in mid-April with fans paying EC$30 for ground and EC$50 for stands. For the second game, patrons will pay an additional EC$10 for grounds and stands respectively.
Windsor Park hosted its first ever international cricket match last year when a depleted West Indies clashed with Bangladesh in a doubleheader.
