E-Networks announces that it is widening its information technology services with the recent acquisition of Broadband Inc and Freedom Online Wireless Internet Service Providers.
According to a press release, E-Networks bought the company on March 17 in a multi-million-dollar deal. Broadband Inc started operations providing wireless internet services in 2002 and has built a large portfolio of small satellite services providing internet access and voice services to miners and companies in remote parts of the country.
“Under the brand of Freedom Online, Broadband Inc marketed residential internet services covering Georgetown and its environs, Berbice and Linden with recent expansion on the Essequibo Coast. The company also offers VOIP services, Mobile Data and GPS Vehicle tracking,” the release said.
E-Networks Inc has been in operation since 2004 and has been providing communication services to large corporations, small businesses and more recently to residential users. The company is the only one which offers tripleway services (the ability to offer digital television, voice and internet access over a single physical connection) in Guyana.
The release said the new union will see Broadband operations being relocated to E-Networks Inc corporate offices in Camp Street. Plans are also in train to merge the two data networks, effectively creating the largest broadband network in Guyana with the widest coverage area. Broadband Inc’s advertised telephone numbers and e-mail address remain the same, the release said.
