Five persons, who were arrested by police for the robbery at the Phone Depot store on Middle Street, were yesterday arraigned on robbery charges.
Kurwin Heywood, Wayne Isaacs, Leon Watson, Ulric London and Dwayne Graham denied the charge that on April 3, being together, they robbed Phone Depot of electronic items valued over $10M. They were all remanded by Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton.
Watson also faced two other charges. He was charged with being in possession of 30 .380 live rounds of ammunition on April 3 and being in possession of one unlicensed Uzi semi-automatic pistol. He pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The prosecutor asked that the defendants be remanded to prison and a date set for trial. The matter is returnable for July 19.
