The Veterans of Georgetown Football Club (GFC) started off on a winning note by defeating the Miami Veterans in their annual triangular tournament on Tuesday at the GFC Ground.
Playing against the Trevor ‘Lanny’ Maxwell squad, GFC vets were able to gain a one-goal victory in the match that ended 2 – 1.
Terrence Lewis and Olric Johnson were the goal scorers for GFC while Keith London was the one who pulled one back for Miami.
The action continues tomorrow at the same venue as the Miami Veterans clash with Western Tigers’ Veterans from 5:30pm.
Among those in the lineup for Western Tigers are Ivor Doridge, Peter Lashley, Anthony Stanton, Patrick Ram, Earl Williams and Clancy Charles.
Maxwell’s side includes London, Eon Williams and others who will be looking to revive themselves in this match-up to have a chance at winning the tournament.
