Luncheon made this disclosure at his weekly post-Cabinet press briefing at Office of the President on Thursday. He said television programmes are ongoing across the country to highlight and sensitise the public about the importance of observing health protocols in the workplace.
According to a Government Information Agency press release Luncheon said the industrial and manufacturing entities were targeted as it was fund to be most needed in those two sectors.
In keeping with International Labour Organisation guidelines, World Day for Safety and Health promotes the prevention of occupational accidents and diseases globally. This campaign intends to focus international attention on the magnitude of the problem as well as to create a safety and health culture to reduce the incidence of work-related deaths and injury.
The local roster of activities will conclude on World Occupational Safety and Health Day, April 28.
