The essay by a child that wins the ‘My Special Mom’ competition, would win their mother designer clothing, footwear, a total spa treatment, beauty and food hampers and a dinner, among other prizes.
The competition is being held by Silhouette – which is headed by international designer Sonia Noel – and NCN television in recognition of Mother’s Day, which will be observed on May 9.
According to a press release, those who are interested can send a photograph of their mothers and an essay detailing why their mom “is extra special” to silhouettefashion@yahoo.com or 176 Barr Street, Kitty. The competition is open to persons who may not be biologically related, but whose mothers are still great mother figures.
Three finalists will be chosen from whom the winner will be picked, but the first and second runner-ups will also receive prizes.
“I believe every day should be mother’s day because we need to express gratitude for the hardship they bear in bringing up a child, but see[ing] there is a day designated for that celebration we need to make it as special as possible. [I would]… like to thank NCN and the businesses who are supporting and sharing my vision,” Noel said in the release.
