A Woodley Park, West Coast Berbice grocer was held at gun point on Saturday by three men who posed as customers.
According to a police statement, the robbery occurred around 11.30am when the men entered Jailall Sahadeo’s grocery store and ordered cigarettes and soft drinks. Sahadeo, 60, was then held at gunpoint by one of the robbers.
The statement added that the men then took Sahadeo into the dwelling area of the building, where they also held up his wife and daughter and locked them in a store room. The men made good their escape but with $180,000 cash along with cell phone cards valued $250,000.
