Guyanese all rounder Royston Crandon was the star performer for Moosai Sports but they still lost to University of T&T by 14 runs in the final preliminary round of the Carib Shield T20 competition on Wednesday.
Batting first UTT made 118 all out with Crandon taking 4-11 and fellow Guyanese and former Test bowler Mahendra Nagamootoo snaring 2-33. Moosai Sports in return scored 104-8 off 20 overs, as both Crandon and Nagamootoo failed with the bat.
In another game another Guyanese player Eugene Le Fleur was in fine allround form as his side Esmeralda defeated Canaan & Bon Accord by 42 runs.
Esmeralda batted first and compiled 178-8 off their 20 overs with La Fleur getting 40. Bon Accord in reply made 136 all out in 18.1 overs with La Fleur taking two wickets for four runs.
