Guyanese all rounder Mahendra Nagamootoo top scored for his club Moosai Sports and was also the best bowler capturing two wickets, but his team still went under to Queen’s Park by two wickets in the round-of-16 stage of the Carib T20 competition at the Queen’s Park Oval.
Batting first Moosai Sports scored 126 runs all out in 19.2 overs with Barbadian Carlos Brathwaite, finishing with impressive figures of three wickets for 11 runs in his four overs. Nagamootoo top scored for his team getting 28.
Queen’s Park then lost wickets at regular intervals but thanks to Leeward Islands player Runako Morton, got home by two wickets with five balls to spare. Morton struck a controlled unbeaten 55 that took the game away from Moosai Sports. Nagamootoo proved the best bowler for Moosai Sports taking two wickets for 26 runs.
