A 63-year-old woman is thanking God for sparing her life after she came away from a vehicular accident with a broken arm.
Beryl Mapp of Beterver-wagting (BV), East Coast Demerara was among those injured in Tuesday’s accident between a minibus and a car at Camp and Qumina streets. Mapp says she was heading home when she noticed the car which sped across the corner.
The minibus, BLL 7791, was heading to BV. It was moving north along Camp Street when it collided with the car, PBB 8455. According to Mapp, the driver of the car was speeding and the collision was unavoidable.
Mapp who was sitting near the window in the seat behind the conductor said she was pinned when the bus turned over after the collision. She sustained a broken right arm and bruises to her body. She is recuperating in the Female Surgical Ward of the Georgetown Public Hospital.
Meanwhile, the driver of the car, Frank David, 95 is in a private hospital nursing a broken leg and fractured shoulder after he was discharged from the Georgetown Public Hospital. The driver of the minibus escaped uninjured.
