A cut cable has disrupted telephone service to several areas in Linden for nearly a week and GT&T said yesterday that systems will be restored by tomorrow.
For nearly one week telephone service to Richmond Hill, Noitedacht, Fair’s Rust, Watooka and the Linmine Office Complex have been out.
A resident of Linden told this newspaper that they were not notified or provided any reason as to why they were without telephone service. However, when contacted, Public Relations Officer of GT&T Allison Parker revealed that notices had been placed on NCN in Linden and were run constantly.
According to Parker, a cable was cut at the Washer Pan Road and David Rose Avenue junction last Friday. As soon as the discovery was made, she said, the phone company began running the television notices.
Parker said they are unaware of how the damage was done but technicians are working to rectify the situation. She explained that the cable has to be replaced and systems are expected to be back up by tomorrow the latest.
