With the aim of promoting healthy lifestyles through fitness and good eating habits, the Hugh Ross Classic Committee will be hosting a Fitness Walk on Sunday.
The event is slated to kick off at 06:30hrs and will be around the outer circuit of the National Park. Walkers will move off from the National Park, proceed east along Thomas Lands, north into JB Singh Highway (continuation of Irving Street), west into Carifesta Avenue, south into Camp Street, east into Lamaha Street, and north into Albert Street to finish at the National Park.
Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport Dr Frank Anthony and Minister of Health Dr Leslie Ramsammy are expected to be among the many dignitaries and diplomats who will participate.
According to the organisers, Hugh Ross will be present for the walk which will see participants receiving T-shirts, compliments of GT&T Cellink, and bottled water compliments of Banks DIH.
The Second Hugh Ross Classic Bodybuilding and Fitness Championship will take place on Sunday, May 2nd at the National Cultural Centre and will feature the best male and female athletes in Guyana vying for bragging rights in six categories. The winners in the various male categories will clash in the overall pose down for the Mr Hugh Ross Title. Tickets are on sale at the National Cultural Centre at $1,000, $1,500, and $2,000.
