Drag racing is set for Sunday at the South Dakota Circuit, where a number of drivers from Suriname will be on show in the Guyana Motor Racing and Sports Club (GMR&SC) sponsored event.
Approximately 30 high-powered cars are scheduled to arrive from Suriname and will be competing in several categories. These include A (0-1600 cc), B (1601-2000cc) and D (2001-2200cc). Other categories include: Group D1 Unlimited Class for Four-Wheel Drive Cars above 2200cc, and cars with NOS (Nitrous Oxide Systems),Group D2 Unlimited Class for Two-Wheel Drive Cars above 2200cc and those cars with NOS as well. There will also be an open class for Super Bikes.
Meanwhile, a multiplying factor of 1.4 would be applied to the cc of all force induction cars to determine their placement.
Surinamese Hance Yzer will be revving a Black Typhoon and has sent serious threats to the Guyanese drivers that he is coming out with even more power this time.
The action is set to get cracking from 10:00h and admission is $1,000 with vehicles and children being admitted at no cost.
