The preliminary inquiry into allegations of carnal knowledge committed by broadcaster Chandra Narine Sharma was put down yesterday at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court for May 25 to await the outcome of a constitutional motion filed in the High Court by his attorneys.
The hearing of the High Court motion will also be held on May 25.
Sharma’s legal team had filed a motion on Tuesday to have certified copies of his passport admitted as evidence. The attorneys contend that the copies are integral to the defence of their client.
