A man was remanded to prison after he appeared before acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson to answer a charge of incest.

The court heard that in July 2009 the man, 42, had carnal knowledge of a female knowing same to be his daughter.

Police Prosecutor Inspector Stephen Telford asked for bail to be refused and the matter to be transferred to Providence Magistrates’ Court for report and fixture.

The man was remanded and the matter transferred to Providence for May 11.
