Dear Editor,
I am prompted to follow up Mrs Searwar’s letter (‘Gutters and alley in part of Queenstown need to be cleaned properly’ SN, April 25) since my circumstances are similar. I live in Newtown (former village sandwiched between Kitty and Bel Air Park).
The rains have resumed, and so has the flooding of my premises. I am hoping that the time has come for Newtown to benefit from the cleansing/desilting campaign now in progress in Georgetown. I trust that through the press those spearheading this task will include us, since other efforts have failed.
Yours faithfully,
Joyce Joao
