A man was remanded to prison by Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton when he appeared before her yesterday charged with trafficking in narcotics.
Ulric Seaforth denied the charge which states that on May 12 at Eastville, Annandale, East Coast Demerara, he had in his possession 26 grammes of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking.
Special prosecutor Oswald Massiah of the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) asked that Seaforth be remanded and the matter transferred to Vigilance Magistrate’s Court.
The magistrate granted his request and the matter will come up on May 20 at Vigilance.
