-Court hears
A man who allegedly committed three gunpoint robberies in one day was remanded to prison yesterday by Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton when he appeared before her at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court to answer the charges.
Randy Morris was not required to plead to the charges when they were read to him.
It is alleged that on March 2 at Georgetown being armed with a gun, he robbed Sheldon Cheddie of one gold chain valued $300,000 and a gold band valued $120,000, among other items, the total amount being $740,000.
It is further alleged that on the same day being armed with a gun, he robbed Tamika Persaud of a Motorola cell phone valued at $38,000. Additionally, on the same day while allegedly being armed with a gun, he robbed Dwayne London of one gold and diamond chain valued $1.4M and one ring valued at $200,000, among other jewellery totalling $2.1M.
Morris was remanded by the magistrate and the matter put down for May 24 for statements.
