A minibus driver was released on $75,000 bail after he was charged with conspiring to commit a felony yesterday.
Rawle Vincent, of 22 Stone Avenue, Campbell-ville, denied the charge when he appeared before acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson.
It is alleged that between December 5, 2004 and May 12, 2010, he conspired with person(s) unknown to forge a driver’s licence purporting to show it was issued by the Guyana Licence Office, knowing same to be false.
Police Prosecutor In- spector Stephen Telford said that Vincent was driving a minibus when he was stopped and asked to produce his licence.
Upon checking, it was discovered that the word “lorry” was inserted on the document, thereby granting him permission to drive such a vehicle.
Vincent was then granted bail by the magistrate and the matter put down for June 23 for statements in Court 10.
