Defending champions Leonora girls and Meten-Meer-Zorg boys’ were recently crowned winners of the West Coast Demerara (WCD) zone of the Seeraj Construction Company AL Sport and Tour Promotions Schools Windball Competition.
Playing Stewartville in the final at the Uitvlugt Community Development Centre ground, Leonora restricted Stewartville to 33–2 then easily surpassed that score ending on 38–3.

Sherne Kertzious topscored for Leonora with 10 runs while Selena Young scored a similar amount for Stewartville.

In the semi-final round Leonora defeated Uitvlugt girls while Zeelugt crumbled to Stewartville.

The boys’ category saw Meten-Meer-Zorg scoring a challenging 54–4 in their allotted overs against Windsor Forest with Kelvin Shewprasaud contributing a sterling 23  supported by Looknauth Chinkoo (19).

Rajendranauth Bisnauth was miserly in his bowling to finish with 2-9 before his team began their reply.

In reply, Windsor Forest could only manage 50-3 before the overs ran out.
