A brother who allegedly inflicted bodily harm on his sister was remanded to prison yesterday when he appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson.
Geffary Ellis, 45, of 219 West Ruimveldt pleaded not guilty to the charge of unlawfully inflicting bodily harm on Judson Ellis, his sister, on May 15.
Ellis told the court that this was not the first time she had been injured by her brother. She said that on the day in question, she told him not to enter the house because she was cleaning. He reportedly took a hockey stick and began to assault her.
Police Prosecutor Inspector Stephen Telford objected to bail on the grounds that both parties reside in the same house.
Geffary was then remanded and the matter transferred to Court 10 for June 24.
