Dear Editor,
Every weekend and on some holidays residents of Barr Street Kitty get totally fed up with the noise nuisance that occurs at cock-fights. There is gambling, drinking, smoking of all types, fist-fights, and language that would corrupt the little children who attend the nursery school just in front of the yard. On Saturday, May 9, 2010 two persons were seriously stabbed (not the first time). All hell broke loose; men, boys and even women, with hockey sticks in hand were throwing lashes left, right and centre. A parked car was hit by a missile. The police came with guns in hand, but those involved had already fled.
The same thing used to happen some years ago, but the police were swift to break it up. However, after a while it returned.
Please somebody do something, because the next time may be even worse.
