The launch of the Athletic Association of Guyana’s Under-23 event will now be held on Monday.
This is according to president of the AAG Colin Boyce. The event, initially scheduled for last Thursday, did not come off but yesterday Boyce told this newspaper that the event will be held in the boardroom of sponsors Digicel.
Yesterday Stabroek Sport inaccurately reported that Thursday’s launch did not come off because of the unavailability of Digicel’s Public Relations and Events Manager, Shonnet Moore. We might also have misinterpreted the AAG president Boyce in the statement that a “lack of communication from the Digicel end,” was another reason for the postponement. We have subsequently learnt from the AAG that the event was postponed due to bad weather conditions.
We would like to sincerely apologise to Ms Moore and Digicel for any damage these statements might have caused.
