Five young men are promising to take Guyana’s entertainment industry to a new level and if their track record is anything to speak about the country can certainly look forward to top of the line entertainment events with just the right touch of class as a finisher.
“All through the world event management is a serious business and now we feel we have enough resources and experience to develop on this niche market and give Guyana a reliable and effective event planning entertainment company,” the men behind Wildfire Entertainment (WE) boasted in a recent release recently.
The not-so-modest young men said since their company is aimed at giving people “quality and reliable events” which include contributing to the non-partying community after events and involving persons from all walks of life they feel that their slogan, ‘Is a WE Ting!’ aptly describes them.
It was just over two years ago that the man with the fire behind the group, Jonathan Beepat, conceptualised the company with the aim to create an entertainment and media production company to improve the quality of output from both fields.
Since then Chief Executive Officer Beepat, who holds a Bachelors of Business Administration (BBA) in Business Management has been joined by Vice President of operations Jermaine Softley, who holds a diploma in Business Management and Telecommunications and Event managers Vijay Panday, Warren Williams and Andrew Sukrah.
“Our entertainment unit has faced trials but was able to overcome them, manage and develop. Our group is a very tight knit one and it is with this unity and trust we are able to survive and continue,” the five men said in the release.
Since 2007 the group has managed 11 local concerts, two concerts in Canada, over 15 sports events three VIP parties, and one school show.
According to the group the company is strictly focused on entertainment but they cautioned that they are not merely promoters like other entities but also event managers.
“When we put on an event, many are involved – emcees, artists, sound systems, individual promoters, entertainment websites, security firms, bartenders, porters, and most importantly, fans and patrons,” the group boasted.
The group said their intention is also to use part of the profits from each event to help benefit the society in some way, whether it is a donation to a school, or installing a needed item in a community.
“Our services for Wildfire Entertainment include artist management, artist promotion, music distribution, concert hosting, vent management and planning, international artist booking, and music production among other things,” they said.
Some of their more prestigious clients include Digicel, they managed the mobile company’s D’Bimmer Flex events in summer 2009, and more recently the company was contracted by the ICC World 2020 cricket to create the concept and manage the party stand for the cricket held in Guyana.
