Gunmen struck at a creek along the Soesdyke/Linden Highway on Friday night and after attacking four persons escaped with over $120,000.
A police press release yesterday said that an investigation has been launched into an armed robbery which occurred around 22:30 hrs at the Aziza Akousa Creek committed by two men armed with hand guns.
Investigations revealed that Quacy Jackman, 33, and Jason Skinner, 22, both of Melanie Damishana, East Coast Demerara, along with two friends were at the creek, police said, when a car drove up and the two armed men exited.
The men held up the four victims and took away a total of $123,000 and six cell phones after which they escaped.
Police are continuing investigations into the incident.
