Dear Editor,
A few weeks ago outside the GPO building in Robb Street there was a traffic gridlock which an armed policeman on duty was able to resolve. Apparently with parking on both sides in the street, a motorist had compounded the situation by parking his/her car alongside another thus creating a problem for a trailer to pass.
Here was a policeman who should be looking out for bandits but was forced to take on traffic duties. I do not think that there is any street in the city where one will not find double parking, but it is also dangerous if one has to negotiate a crossing or entry into the said street.
As motorists we should all try to show discretion in the use of the roads.
Yours faithfully,
