Dear Editor,
I see that the Minister of Public Works Robeson Benn has embarked on a programme to rid sections of Georgetown of people squatting on government reserves. I commend him for a good job. I would like the Minister and officials from the MCC to visit the reserve behind Laing Avenue and West Ruimveldt where tall grass is growing in the canal and people are squatting on the reserve without respect for law and order or for people’s health. A horse pen is among the structures built there, and fighting and drug-selling are the order of the day. The Minister should take a walk there as early as possible, and I know he will find work for his staff.
Yours faithfully,
