Ramal Madray, 30, of Bennett Dam, Rosignol, West Bank Berbice, was yesterday charged with possession of more than 100 kilogramme of compressed marijuana.
Madray was remanded to prison by Magistrate Nigel Hawke at the Fort Wellington Magistrates’ Court, after being charged with possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.
He was allegedly held with the narcotics in a car at Profitt, West Coast Berbice on Thursday.
According to a police statement, around 9:15am, ranks of a police mobile patrol stopped and searched motor car PFF 9723. During the search, 113 kilogrammes, 636 grammes of cannabis sativa were found.
