The People’s Progressive Party has extended congratulations to newly-elected Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago Kamla Persad-Bissessar and her team in the People’s Partnership on their outstanding victory at the polls.
“We are happy to note that the partnership has placed strong emphasis on the interests of the working people of Trinidad and Tobago,” the PPP said in a statement.
The ruling PPP noted that the new government is faced with many challenges but expressed confidence that the new PM and her team “will adequately meet these challenges and take their country forward.”
The statement said also that as the Caribbean continues to battle with the harsh global realities, the PPP looks forward to working with the parties in the People’s Partnership “to improve the working and living conditions of the peoples of our individual countries and the region as a whole.”
