Bibi Raffina Saymar, whose reputed husband reportedly hired a man to kill her, died from haemorrhage and shock due to multiple stab wounds.
The autopsy, police said in a statement yesterday afternoon, was performed by Dr Vivekanand Brijmohan. However, they said nothing about the three men in custody — Saymar’s husband, the accused killer who has reportedly confessed and a taxi driver who reportedly transported him.
During the wee hours of Saturday morning, screams were heard coming from Saymar’s upper flat apartment. Saymar, 23, started renting the apartment in January.
At the time, her foster father Gewanlall Asaram said on Sunday, her husband was in Canada. The man travels back and forth every two to three months and is a real estate agent. While the husband was nice to the family, Asaram stated, his foster daughter often told her mother about the abuse she suffered. The husband, relatives said, had a nasty temper and was very possessive.
It was reported that about five minutes after Saymar’s landlady discovered her bleeding her husband showed up. The man, relatives said they learnt from the landlady, walked in, saw Saymar still alive but offered no help and walked out.
