Kashif and Shanghai Kings and Wismar Pistons will go head to head this Friday night at the Mackenzie Sports club hardcourt in the long awaited final of the Linden Town Week basketball tourney.
The tournament which commenced late last month was scheduled for an early May completion but due to the inclement weather play was put on hold.
Playing for the third place title will be Victory Valley Royals and Allenye’s Retrieve Raiders.
Meanwhile the quarter final games of the tournament were played last Friday at the same venue.
In the first encounter Kashif and Shanghai Kings ousted Allenye’s Retrieve Raiders 62-52 for a place in the final.
King’s Orrin Rose posted the game-high 20 points. He received support from Kenton Bowen who scored 19 points.
Devon Gittens and Damien Allenye responded in a losing cause for the Retrieve boys, posting 14 and 12 points respectively.
In the second game of Friday’s double header, Wismar Pistons defeated Victory Valley Royals 74-63. At halftime the score was 38-37 in favor of Pistons. However, Quincy Jones dominated the court and had most of the ball possession. The Valley boys were unable to neutralize Jones’ momentum and he ended with 22 points.
He received support from Trevor Profit who posted 16 points and Dwight Hooper with 15 points.
For the Royals, Harold Adams posted 18 points and Chris Williams 17.
The final and third place playoff will be played on Friday at the same venue.
The tournament is being sponsored by Banks DIH and the Linden Amateur Basketball Association.
