The Preliminary Inquiry into a charge of carnal knowledge by Colwyn King of a girl under the age of 15 did not resume on Wednesday as the magistrate was said to be unwell and the matter was put down for another date.
It was expected that the virtual complainant would have continued to give evidence in the matter. However this will now be done on June 29 when the matter comes up next.
King, the former president of the Guyana Teachers’ Union (GTU), allegedly had carnal knowledge of the girl on October 7.
On November 13, he was granted bail in the sum of $250,000 by Magistrate Fazil Azeez.
