A 33-year-old man was discovered dead on Princes Street, Georgetown yesterday morning.
Ron Mercurious, of Smyth Street (a short distance from where his body was discovered), was found by residents. His body, a resident said, had no visible marks of violence.
Stabroek News understands that the man was last seen alive by his reputed wife on Wednesday night. Mercurious reportedly attended a party where he had been consuming alcohol. A relative told this newspaper that the man was a regular drinker.
“I was told that he fell down at this place and hit himself…after the people revive him he walked out and that was the last time he was seen alive,” the relative said.
Mitchell Rogers was among those who identified his brother’s body at the Lyken’s Funeral Parlour. Relatives believe that Mercurious collapsed and do not suspect foul play.
