BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, CMC – West Indies selectors are expected to name a replacement this weekend to join the A team in England after fast bowler Nelon Pascal was called up for the first Test against South Africa.
Pascal had been named in the squad to tour England and Ireland this month but was among 14 players named yesterday to face the Proteas in Trinidad and Tobago next week.
He will be the second player to be replaced after Guyanese batsman Assad Fudadin was called up for Darren Bravo who was also included in the squad for the first Test.
The 24-year-old left-handed Fudadin left the Caribbean last weekend and has already been training with the squad in England.
Jamaican all-rounder David Bernard Jr, who played the last two One-Day Internationals of the recent five-match series against South Africa, left on Friday to join the A squad.
He will serve as captain Devon Smith’s deputy on the tour that starts on Saturday with a three-day first class match against Glamorgan.
