Members of the Lusignan Golf Club will meet on Saturday to elect a new executive committee to run the affairs of the Club for 2010-2011.
The Annual General Meeting will take place at the Club House at 16:00 hours. There are likely to be several changes on the executive committee including the position of President.
The incumbent President Mel Sankies who served two terms disclosed that he will not be seeking another term at the helm.
Sources close to the club indicated that Courts Country Manager Lester Alvis is tipped to be elected President.
The current members of the executive are Sankies – President, Esau Shamshudin – vice president, Ronald Bulkan – secretary, Brian Hackett- treasurer, Gavin Todd, assistant secretary/treasurer, Jerome Khan – club captain, Mike Guyadin – grounds superintendent, Mike Mangal committee member and Troy Peters – public relations officer.
There will also be reports by the president and treasurer.
Rain has curtailed activities at the club for the past few weeks including the Banks Light Beer tournament which was called off because of inclement weather.
The Club has also received an invitation to compete in the Suriname Open billed for August in Paramaribo, Suriname.
