Experienced golfer Robert Hanoman emerged winner of the Banks Light Beer Medal Play golf tournament played yesterday at the Lusignan Golf Club.
Hanoman recorded a net score of 72 from a gross 95 playing off a 23 handicap in capturing the title from a large field that turned up for the tournament which was aborted two weeks ago due to inclement weather.
Boloram Deo secured the second position on a countback after he and Muntaz Hanif ended on net scores of 73.
Deo had a gross score of 88 playing off a handicap 15, while Hanif recorded a gross score of 89 from a handicap 16.
Williams Walker was Nearest to the Pin.
Secretary of the Lusignan Golf Club Ronald Bulkan thanked Banks DIH Chairman Clifford Reis for his company’s sponsorship of another tournament on the local golf calendar.
Banks DIH has been the main sponsor of the Guyana Open for a number of years.
Banks DIH Executive Engineer Gavin Todd, a member of the LGC made the presentation of special prizes, which included caps, shirts, and other products of the company.
Meanwhile, Hanoman has consented to sponsor this weekend’s Father’s Day Medal Play tournament slated for Saturday at the Club.
The Muneshwar’s Ltd. tournament is an annual fixture on the golf calendar.
