Dear Editor,
I would like to express my heartfelt sympathy to the parents and relatives of young Kelvin Fraser who was slain by the police at Patentia, West Bank Demerara, I believe that no parent should have to go through the pain the parents of young Kelvin are feeling today. The time has come for this nation to unite and fight against the excesses of the Guyana Police Force.
For too long the members of the force have been allowed to harass the citizens of this country, and when a government supports the lawlessness of the police then our country has descended into a state of anarchy.
The Commissioner of Police and the Minister of Home Affairs must come out and tell the Guyanese people exactly what is happening in the Guyana Police Force. Do we have policemen who are above the law? Is the Commissioner of Police in control of the force? We need answers; the police must stop killing and torturing our children.
Let’s control the police now.
Yours faithfully,
Clive Fredericks
