Minister of Home Affairs Clement Rohee encouraged the Sophia Mothers’ Action Group to participate in community policing when he met with them to discuss solutions to petty crime plaguing the community.
President of the group Doris Anetha Shelto said residents have had their cars stripped, their dogs have disappeared and they are affected by these and other petty crimes. According to the Government Information Agency Shelto believes a group of persons is perpetrating these crimes. She also said the community is encouraged by the police’s response to the situation.
Rohee said the ministry is willing and prepared to partner with the group to fight crime. He also urged the women to form a CPG if the area does not have one.
