It is an improvement that GWI has informed us about the chlorine leak (SN, June 15).
However, it is not enough to pronounce that the leak was “minimal.” Public as well as occupational health and safety considerations require that measures be in place to say how much chlorine escaped.
These measures are not complicated. Pressure gauges and weighing apparatus are all that are required. Failure to have them and use them would be gross negligence.
